ILS 2024 Authors' Series – Lecture 1

Join the International Law Section for the first lecture in the Authors' Series for 2024, featuring Dr Camille Goodman. Dr Camille Goodman's book 'Coastal State Jurisdiction Over Living Resources in the Exclusive Economic Zone' analyses the nature and extent of states' sovereign rights over living resource within the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).

About the book

In our Indo-Pacific region, fisheries are critical to not only food and economic security, but broader political and strategic security. And since 95 per cent of the global fish catch comes from the 200 nautical mile exclusive economic zones of coastal States, having a clear understanding of the legal framework that enables and limits coastal State regulation of fisheries is of significant global economic, social, political, legal, and environmental interest.

To learn more, join Associate Professor Camille Goodman in conversation with Suzanne Howarth from the Law Council of Australia’s International Law Section, to discuss Camille’s award-winning book 'Coastal State Jurisdiction over Living Resources in the Exclusive Economic Zone' (Oxford University Press, 2021).
