Law Council President Juliana Warner attended the IBA Bar Leaders Conference and Mid-year meetings in Milan, Italy between 21–24 May 2025.
During the Conference, President Warner facilitated roundtable discussions with Bar Leaders and representatives on the topic ‘Diversity and inclusion: shifting trends and priorities’ alongside Christina Blacklaws, former President of the Law Society of England and Wales.

In the margins of the Conference, the President met with the Federation of Law Societies of Canada, New Zealand Law Society, the Korean Bar Association, the Hong Kong Bar Association and Taiwan Bar Association to discuss matters of shared interest including advocacy by professional bodies, the rule of law, and approaches to anti-money laundering regulation of the legal profession.
On the final day of meetings, the Law Council represented the Australian legal profession at the biannual IBA Council Meeting which brings together all parts of the organisation including representatives from legal professional bodies around the world.
