Meeting with the Bar Council of India

On 27 August, Law Council President Juliana Warner met with Bar Council of India Chair Manan Kumar Mishra in New Delhi to discuss the BCI’s new rules for the registration and regulation of foreign lawyers and foreign law firms in India.
The meeting followed the Law Council's provision of a submission and participation in a hearing on 22 August 2025 to discuss the new rules. During the hearing the Law Council provided information about Australia’s system of regulation for foreign lawyers and the observations regarding the benefits of integrated transnational legal services for clients, foreign lawyers and the domestic legal profession.
