Best Practice Principles for the Regulation of Foreign Lawyers and Transnational Law Practice
November 2015
The Law Council of Australia has developed the Best Practice Principles for the Regulation of Foreign Lawyers and Transnational Law Practice to provide a neutral, principles-based framework for the regulation of foreign lawyers and transnational law practice.
The principles are consistent with the International Bar Association’s 1998 resolution on the regulation of foreign lawyers, and are informed by extensive research by the Law Council on regulatory systems as well as input from both law firms and their clients.
