Policy Statement - Commonwealth Criminal Cases Review Commission

27 April 2012

The community’s faith in the criminal justice system rests on both the accuracy of outcomes and the finality of outcomes. A dynamic tension can exists between these competing demands.

Accuracy of outcomes requires that every person convicted of a crime has the right to have his/her conviction reviewed by a higher tribunal according to law.
