Combatting financial abuse perpetrated through coerced directorships
Submission Date: 24 December 2025
The Law Council of Australia provided a submission to respond to the Treasury’s Consultation Paper Combatting financial abuse perpetrated through coerced directorships. This submission has been prepared by the Taxation Committee and the SME Business Law Committee of the Law Council of Australia’s Business Law Section (together, the Committees). The Committees provide this submission drawing on the practical experience of legal practitioners in dealing with these issues, both in tax and tax-adjacent regulatory contexts.
This is a submission of the listed Committees of the Business Law Section. Should the views of other Business Law Section committees or other parts of the Law Council (for example the Family Law Section, constituent bodies, advisory committees) be of assistance, the Law Council would be pleased to arrange this.
