Proposed auditor FAQs and RG 280 update

Submission Date: 7 May 2026

This submission is made by the Corporations Committee of the Business Law Section of the Law Council of Australia (the Committee) in response to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission’s (ASIC’s) request for feedback on its proposed updates to Regulatory Guide 280 (RG 280) and the auditor FAQs relating to the review and audit of sustainability reports.

The Committee understands that, as part of its soft consultation process, ASIC is seeking stakeholders’ views on whether, and if so how, the auditor FAQs and RG 280 should be updated.
