Secure Jobs, Better Pay Review

The Law Council of Australia provided a submission to provide input to the review of the operation of the Fair Work Legislation Amendment (Secure Jobs, Better Pay) Act 2022 (Cth) (Secure Jobs, Better Pay Act) and the amendments made by Part 16A of Schedule 1 of the Fair Work Legislation Amendment (Closing Loopholes) Act 2023 (Closing Loopholes Act).

The Law Council has not received specific feedback in relation to Part 16A of the Closing Loopholes Act, therefore this submission is limited to the measures contained in the Secure Jobs, Better Pay Act. These comments should be read in conjunction with the Law Council’s earlier submission to the Senate Education and Employment Legislation Committee’s review of the Fair Work Legislation Amendment (Secure Jobs, Better Pay) Bill 2022 (Secure Jobs, Better Pay Bill).1
