Stage 2 Reform of the Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport 2002
The Law Council of Australia provided a submission to the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications in relation to its Stage 2 Reform of the Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport 2002 (the Transport Disability Standards), which is being undertaken by the Australian Government.
The Consultation Regulation Impact Statement paper is directed at capturing the experiences of public transport service providers and people with disability who utilise these services, and their views as to the suitability and feasibility of specific practical reforms. The Law Council is not well placed to respond to the consultation’s targeted questions at the level of practical detail sought.
The Law Council may, however, contribute to the consultation at a higher level should constituent bodies, committees or sections wish to provide input within this context.
