Treasury Laws Amendment (Competition and Consumer Reforms No. 1) Bill 2022
The Competition and Consumer Law Committee and the Small and Medium Enterprise Business Law Committee of the Business Law Section of the Law Council of Australia welcome the opportunity to comment on Treasury’s draft bill Treasury Laws Amendment (Competition and Consumer Reforms No. 1) Bill 2022 (the Bill) and in particular the proposal to increase the penalties for contraventions of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) (CCA), including the Australian Consumer Law as set out in Schedule 2 to the CCA (ACL).
