Australian Law Management

The Australian Law Management Group (ALMG) informs and supports professionals engaged in the business of law. It provides resources and professional development opportunities for those in management roles across law firms, in-house legal teams, government and academia, as well as organisations or consultants that support the operational and strategic functions of legal institutions.

The ALMG committee meets quarterly and is composed of Law Council members whose collective expertise spans legal practice, practice management, consultancy, leadership, strategy, innovation and marketing.

Key ALMG initiatives include the Law Management Journal, a trusted online resource offering insights, research, and practical guidance for legal practice leaders and employees. Focus areas include performance, business/people management & development, technology, financial sustainability, workplace culture, and ethics in law firm governance.

The ALMG also produces a podcast series featuring in-depth discussions with leading figures in the Australian and international legal sector.

Beyond its publications, the ALMG delivers specialist CPD events and professional development programs, including the World Masters of Law Firm Management. These initiatives foster collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and professional growth among those dedicated to excellence in legal practice management.
