Australian Human Rights Commission National Inquiry into Sexual Harassment in Australian Workplaces
15 November 2018
The development of the Law Council's submission to the Australian Human Rights Commission’s National Inquiry into Sexual Harassment in Australian Workplaces is underway.
The submission will draw on findings from the National Attrition and Re-engagement Study conducted by the Law Council in 2013.
Under the inquiry's terms of reference it will also consider the current legal framework and contributing factors behind workplace sexual harassment in the legal profession.
On 12 November the Law Council attended a policy consultation hosted by the AHRC, which discussed the causes, impacts and best practice responses of sexual harassment in the workplace.
Contributions to the submission close on 3 December 2018, and the submission is due to the AHRC by 31 January.
