Joint Statement calling for the universal abolition of the death penalty

The Law Council opposes the imposition or execution of the death penalty in all circumstances for all people. Today, on World Day Against the Death Penalty, we come together with counterparts from across the globe in a unified call for the universal abolition of the death penalty, recognising the inherent dignity of every individual and the fundamental right to life.
