National Electronic Conveyancing System Committee
In 2005, the Law Council established the National Electronic Conveyancing System Committee (NECS Committee) to advise on issues related to the development of a truly national eConveyancing system.
Since that time, the Law Council and its Constituent Bodies have been heavily involved in the development of eConveyancing in Australia. The Law Council continues to participate in the implementation of e-Conveyancing nationally.
Issues
The key issues of focus for the NECS Committee are:
- the continuing refinement of the regulatory framework including the Electronic Conveyancing National Law, Model Operating Requirements and Model Participation Rules;
- the development of a national enforcement framework;
- interoperability and meaningful competition between Electronic Lodgment Network Operator (ELNOs);
- technological development of eConveyancing systems, and
- engagement with sector stakeholders.
