2024: Mr Peter O’Brien
Law Council President, Mr Greg McIntrye SC presented the 2024 President's Award to NSW Solicitor, Peter O’Brien, at the Law Council Gala Dinner on 29 November 2024.

Since being admitted in 1998, Mr O’Brien has worked as a solicitor for the Children’s Legal Service of NSW and the Katherine Regional Aboriginal Legal Aid Service in the Northern Territory, and as a senior criminal solicitor at NSW Legal Aid.
President McIntyre SC said, “The resume of NSW Solicitor, Mr Peter O’Brien shows a commitment to serving the community and ensuring those in need, but with the least facility to access justice, have somewhere to turn. Mr O’Brien’s commitment to justice is unwavering and through his efforts has achieved just outcomes for many vulnerable clients.
"Peter is a respected and fearless advocate in criminal and civil law and an exceptionally deserving recipient of the President’s Award, which it was my honour to present to him last night."
