Public interest in artificial intelligence has exploded following release of numerous publicly available generative artificial intelligence tools such as ChatGPT. It is important committee members of the BLS and LCA understand the technology, risks, and legal and ethical issues arising from artificial intelligence (and more specifically generative AI), given they will increasingly be asked to engage on the topic.
